It’s no doubt in the world that when it comes to my favorite rapper, the owner of that title goes to Nasir Jones, better known as Nas. Nas is one of the greatest lyricists to pick up a pen and a pad in the history of rap. Possessing the lyrical cleverness of a Rakim and the story telling skills of a Slick Rick, Nas raised his legend throughout the years by delivering classic material. I think another reason I could relate to Nas is because we’re from Queens and seen pretty much the same day to day life that all Queens residents do so it makes it even easier to like his songs than say a Jay-Z. Every album from Nas were either a classic, great or good with the exception of Nastradamus. From the classic album It Was Written, Take It In Blood is marvelously and happens to be one of the greatest (and my favorite) Nas songs of all time. Side note: In the 8th grade, I had this teacher named Ms. Lee who was pretty young compared to her co-workers and she swore up and down that I look just like Nas. It was funny to everybody in the class and including to myself.
